Young Adult Advisory CouncilThe YA Council is a group of dedicated Young Adults that meet once a month to discuss issues related to teenagers at the Library. Council members have a say in all the teen programs that occur at the Library including the YA Summer Reading Program. Members also have volunteer opportunities through the Youth Services Department and the Friends of the Library. We also have special programs dedicated only to the Council as a reward for the hard work and time put in to the Library. An application must be filled out to join. Applications are available in the Youth Service and Young Adult Departments.

Book RantBookRant is our Young Adult book discussion group. Each month we pick a Young Adult book to read and discuss. Hand- picked by the teens, the novels are a mix of serious and funny and everything in between. Plus there’s snacks! If you’re looking for a book discussion that is light and friendly with some substance, this one’s for you.

Tuesday Night Music GroupTNMG is a new program here at the library that deals with (you guessed it) Music! Fans of all kinds of music can attend this program. We will discuss, listen to and learn about specific musicians and different genres of music at each meeting. All you have to do is bring your favorite song from the artist or genre that will be featured for that month on a CD or your iPod/MP3. If you do not have a favorite or do not know the genre, attend anyway and learn about a new type of music.

YA Theatre GroupThis program is for teens that like to act and want to learn more about it.
At each meeting we explore a certain aspect of acting. With monologues, improvisation, reader’s theater, scripts, you have a chance to try your hand and better your craft. If you like acting or just want to try it out this is a fun group to join.

Bring your friends and stop by the “Café” with cozy chairs, coffee, cookies, crafts and games. The Blue Moon Café is an exciting drop in program that has a different theme each time. You can participate in the theme of the evening or you can just hang out.
